The Manager, Events & Activations, Estate & West will be responsible for the execution and coordination of events and activations for DAOU Family Estates, focusing on experiences in the West and at the Estate. This position requires a detail-oriented eye that plans as well as they can execute, within budget and with urgency, while exceeding expectations on guest experience and brand standards.
Core Responsibilities
Event & Activation Management/Execution
- Responsible for the success of experiences in the West and at the Estate, from ideation to reporting. Predominantly focusing on marketing-led initiatives, but also including initiatives derived from the sales force, PR, partnerships, Member-based, consumer, and more.
- Responsible for the planning, execution and metrics of all events, activations, experiences, initiatives, and projects in the West, including the Estate
- Work closely with the departmental leader and all other stakeholders to deliver consistent and meaningful events based on the goals of initiative.
- Transforms event vision boards and goals into a functional, purposeful event.
- Maintain event inventory, including support with local brand assets.
- Innovate and implement cross-functional and departmental ways of working to increase efficiency, accuracy and brand standards
- Develop an understanding for experiential and cross-functional metrics to deliver experiences that support the objectives of the business
- Support special projects or requests as needed.
Estate Event Collaboration
- Develop strong relationships, collaboration cadences and efficiencies with the Estate’s management team to deliver brand experiences
- Plan and, many times, execute events at the estate, including large trade/media/donation/ internal lunches and immersions; trade/media/consumer/brand/executive/internal dinners and events (as defined in the collaborative ways of working document)
- Develop standardized experiences for the Estate team to leverage when hosting smaller, less complex experiences
- Develop processes and efficiencies that support any special Estate experience, including cross-functional communications with Events & Activations teams.
- Serve as the lead for experiences at off-site DAOU venues, including DAOU Downtown and DAOU Ocean
Budget Management
- Complete comprehensive and accurate critical paths while approving/overseeing all check requests, wine requisitions, request forms, Wine Direct, PDOs or similar.
- Adheres to budget and tracks spending.
- Handles vendor payments in timely manner both internally and externally.
- Evaluates effectiveness of programs by performing periodic reviews and auditing customer feedback on a regular basis. Implement changes as needed to reach plan and objectives.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management or related field, preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in event marketing, brand activations or similar
- Wine and Hospitality knowledge is preferred
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at one time and all the details in between.

Working Conditions
- Regular working schedule to include weekdays, weekends, holidays, and some evenings. Attends events and event meetings outside of normally scheduled working hours.
- Upholds DAOU standards, brands and promises both in and outside of the workplace.
- Long and irregular hours during peak seasons and special events.
- Consistent travel to SLO County and domestic travel.
- Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
- Sitting for long periods of time (8 hours per day).

Compensation for this role is $74,000-$78,000/year.
