Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s):
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, knowledge of governmental accounting standards, knowledge of accounting systems, knowledge of internal control concepts, knowledge of the methods of compiling and analyzing data, knowledge of supervisory or administrative principles and practices, ability to research, analyze and interpret accounting literature, rules and pronouncements, ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures, ability to plan and direct program activities, ability to investigate, review, analyze and evaluate data, ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. ability to utilize problem-solving techniques, ability to process information logically, ability to conduct short range and long-range project planning studies, ability to identify, analyze, and review accounting system requirements, ability to apply technical innovations to existing systems, ability to develop and conduct training programs.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Assist in planning, coordinating, and conducting the activities involved in the preparation and submission of the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) in accordance with requirements of the Office of Management and Budget Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200.415, 200.501, 200.510). Provide instructions to agency personnel and gather and review information necessary to prepare the SEFA. Serve as liaison to the Federal government for receipt and coordination of audit resolution letters related to findings of Federal programs. Provide technical assistance to State agencies and others as applicable.
Assist in planning, coordinating, and conducting the activities involved in the preparation and submission of the Statewide Cost Allocation Plan (SWCAP) in accordance with section 215.195, Florida Statutes. Provide instructions to agency personnel and gather and review information necessary to prepare the SWCAP. Perform periodic reviews of agency indirect cost plans and monitor the remittance of required transfers to the General Revenue Fund. Provide technical assistance to State agencies and others as applicable. Serve as liaison to the Federal government for SWCAP responses. Serve as liaison to the Florida Auditor General’s Office for matters related to the SWCAP.
Assist in planning, coordinating, and conducting the activities involved in the preparation of the Florida Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). These activities include Oversight of the collection, analysis, and compilation of year-end financial information from state agencies to facilitate the preparation of the ACFR. Creation, maintenance, and use of databases and pivot tables. Complete quality assurance reviews of tasks performed by assigned team members.
