Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Business Operations will be responsible for supporting strategic and operational aspects associated with the contracting and procurement needs across Loxo@Lilly. This individual will be overseeing and performing a variety of contract negotiations (including Master Service Agreements) to quickly support the business while identifying and mitigating relevant risks. This individual will have line management responsibilities.
*Roles and Responsibilities of the Position:
- Collaborate with relevant functional groups, legal, and finance teams to draft, negotiate and manage contracts to support drug discovery and development needs.
- Identify and mitigate business risks throughout the contracting process.
- Manage other contracts experts and address their questions/concerns as they arise.
Required Qualifications and Preferred Background:
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 10+ years of business development/contract negotiation experience, preferably in a BioPharma or Diagnostics setting.
- Strong contract drafting, review and analysis skills across a variety of contracts, including Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Consulting Agreements, and SaaS Agreements.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage and meet strict deadlines, work independently, and multi-task.
- Exceptional communication skills – this position requires communicating with a variety of different stakeholders, including scientists and other business representatives, project managers, and third parties.
- Strong organizational skills in order to manage high volumes of contracts.
- MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with a contract management system.
- Advanced degree and/or scientific background
- Solution-oriented and collaborative mindset
- Process improvement experience

Loxo@Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for the Senior Director level position could range from between $144,000 to $203,500, and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. This position will also be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Loxo provides a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including vacation, medical, dental and vision benefits; participation in a 401(k) plan; life and accidental death and disability coverage; parental leave benefits and employee discounts for certain items. The compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described.
