Key Roles and Responsibilities

The Senior Data Scientist:

  • Researches, develops, and codes data models of customer experience using massive data streaming in real time.
  • Studies data patterns and behaviors to generate new insights and metrics required for network operations and business solutions.
  • Defines data requirements, develops mechanisms to ingest, validate, and analyze data from various structured and unstructured sources, and generates large and complex data sets based on data insights while thinking strategically about data use and data design.
  • Works on ad-hoc analysis, proof-of-concept studies, participates in data driven research initiatives, and presents results in a clear manner.
  • Creates automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance.
  • Works with massive network datasets to develop data pipelines and to build models that enable our network intelligence and insights use cases.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Master’s degree from an accredited University in a Quantitative field of study such as Data Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering or Physics.
  • Proficiency in algorithm categories such as Supervised Learning, Unsupervised Learning, Optimization Algorithms, Deep Learning, AI-Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Deep Reinforcement Learning, Search Algorithms, AI- Knowledge Graphs.
  • Experience working with Data Packets, and knowledge of Video, Audio, and Streaming technologies.
  • Familiar with 4G/5G network structure, understanding TCP/UDP protocol is highly desired. Knowledge of 3GPP standards and understanding of Mobile Telecommunications technologies is highly desired.
  • Coding proficiency required in at least one data science language (Python, R, Scala, and SQL) and programming languages (C required, Golang preferred), as well as expertise with modern ML packages and libraries.
  • Proficiency in cloud AI technologies desired, as this position implements AI solutions within the target AI architecture led by the Data Council/Data Review Board.
  • Ability to organize and crisply communicate insights from analysis of large data sets in an intuitive manner to non-technical business partners.
  • Experience working with Hadoop , Azure data lake , Databricks , Snowflake is a must.
  • Requires 5-8 years of experience in data research and analysis, building data models, and supporting model operationalization via ML Ops.
  • Experience with Generative AI and Foundational models is good to have.
  • Good problem solving ability, data oriented personality, organized self-starter, with drive and commitment.
  • Requires on site presence 3-5 days a week in Metro Dallas

Our Senior-Data Scientist’s earn between $127,100 – $254,300. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
