The Opportunity

As the Senior Business Development Specialist, you will support our Good Health and Well Being for All Client Engagement and Growth portfolio within the Global Development Division.

In this position, you will work with the Vice President, Good Health and Well Being for All, Client Account Leads for Vector Borne Diseases, Infectious Diseases, Private Sector Health, Health Service Delivery, Client Solutions Architects, as well as proposal-specific teams stood up for each opportunity. You will have prior experience working in the international development sector and have a successful track record in developing winning proposals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage capture and proposal teams.
  • Support the vision and strategy development for our proposals which meet our clients’ needs.
  • Develop relationships with and select key partners for collaboration on bids within the Good Health and Well Being for All portfolio.
  • Identify key team members and proposal contributors and develop team structures.
  • Write key sections of proposals.
  • Contribute to corporate strategies for Vector Borne Diseases, Infectious Diseases, Private Sector Health, and Health Service Delivery.
  • Attend account level sales meetings to stay apprised of pending opportunities, strategic priorities, and market directions.
  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve business development processes.

Travel: Up to 30%

What We Value

  • Level 3: Bachelor’s Degree + 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree + 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD.
  • Level 2: Bachelor’s Degree + 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree
  • Prior experience working on USAID-funded projects.
  • Experience managing, writing, and developing winning proposals for USAID.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative and solution orientated.
  • Ability to interact with individuals across all organizational levels successfully.
  • Familiarity with pipeline governance and/or BD proposal processes.
  • French language skills preferred, not required.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $79,485 to $127,177 for level 3 and $65,111 to $91,155 for level 2 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location.

Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
