DK’s Digital Marketing department is seeking a Senior Marketing Associate to join the digital marketing team. This is an opportunity to join a creative and collaborative team that oversees all aspects of brand digital marketing for nonfiction books for children and adults, including social media, newsletters, websites, videos, influencer promotions, and more. This is a key role to assist the team in strategic development and oversee the project management for digital marketing tasks across all DK divisions: Children’s books including the Rebel Girls Series, Knowledge, Lifestyle including Licensing, collaboration with Travel, and integral in the rollout of bestselling influencer titles from the US imprint Alpha. This includes managing email marketing campaigns, paid and organic social media, coordinating with PR for author reveals, and marketing and PR for pre-order and influencer-led campaigns. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organization and communication skills, attention to detail, and an interest in social media, digital marketing, and nonfiction publishing. The Senior Marketing Associate will report to the Senior Manager, Digital Strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Manage social content and scheduling for DK’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts
- Desire to create content that makes proven and impactful connections with consumers, measured by high attention metrics (likes, comments, etc.)
- Awareness of the social landscape – regularly assessing the organization’s use of these social media platforms and recommending shifts when appropriate
- Identifies real-time culturally relevant moments and harnesses those moments for meaningful content
- Manage the design/asset creation workflow including routing assets and copy for approval to title marketers, copyeditors, licensors, and authors
- Overseeing Digital Marketing department seasonal content calendar, including updating title list, adhering to team deadlines
- Utilize data and research to identify clear messaging, target audience, and marketing strategy around a book’s release
- Assist with additional tasks and administrative projects, such as contracting, submitting licensor approvals and invoicing
Requirements/Qualifications
- 3+ years of marketing and/or related brand experience in publishing or marketing, with experience working on creative and strategic campaigns
- Self-motivated, able to prioritize, and can work independently, as well as in a team
- Candidate should be proactive and exceptionally organized with sharp attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to network
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Teams, Google Docs; Working knowledge of Basecamp and Canva
- Working knowledge of established and emerging social media platforms; interest in spotting and contributing to trending content
The salary for this position is $58,000.00. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company result.
