Senior Associate, Content Developer

The Content Developer is responsible for finalizing creative content initiated by the Creative team, including versioning, personalization, and segmentation. Oversees project compliance, variable content, artwork and executing direction from Creative, Strategy and Compliance teams. Consistently navigate multiple campaigns efficiently through maintenance of excel or other content management tools. This involves managing routings to obtain feedback and secure approvals from Compliance, AARP and other NYL stakeholders. He/she determines how revisions can be incorporated while maintaining the creative and print integrity of the concept and then communicates directed instruction to an external Production Agency to execute those changes. Prior to handing off the advertising material to the Production team, this position will solve for a variety of challenges, and verify final requirements are met prior to execution of the print campaign.

Work closely with Strategy, Creative and Production teams, NYL stakeholders and external agencies to produce effective creative test and control packages that achieve strategic objectives.

In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Refine and manage test content and control versions with mastery of best practices
  • Prioritize requested changes using applied judgment to monitor for relevance and question those that do not fit the strategic makeup of the advertising content; negotiate, solution, and synthesize agreed upon edits into advertising content
  • Execute segmentation logic and content through Excel look-up tables (LUT) instructions or content management tools
  • Establish proper set-up of base artwork to accommodate versioning and print execution needs for accurate final art release
  • Manage routings for review and approval of test content and control materials with Compliance, AARP and other stakeholders
  • Incorporate feedback from routings into creative, ensuring brand standards and creative integrity are maintained, format aligns with specifications and/or copy is grammatically correct
  • Actively manage projects and corresponding schedules in Aprimo project management tool
  • Work closely with external Production Agency to implement changes and finalize artwork preparation
  • Review supplier generated proofs and conduct quality control at multiple stages of the printing process
  • Ensure internal and external teams have all relevant specifications for advertising content
  • Possess working knowledge of Compliance regulation to incorporate product requirements into new or current creative; remain up to date on Global changes and advertising requirements
  • Discuss and understand winning concept elements with Creative partner for potential application in future test materials
  • Possess working knowledge of Compliance regulation to incorporate product requirements into new creative; remain up to date on Global changes and Product Summary
  • Keep current on industry technology and trends

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing advertising communication, graphic design, print production, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED from equivalent institution required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience
  • Must be proficient in project management, time management, and analytical abilities
  • Knowledge of direct mail, graphic elements, copy editing, and print production in a highly regulated industry
  • Demonstrate, self-motivation, independence, attention to detail, and flexibility in multi-tasking
  • Experience working in templated, direct mail content pages, editing, and maintaining content within a Content Management tool is preferred
  • Experience with transiting/onboarding a company into a new Content Management System is a plus
  • Knowledge of variable content design, development, and standardization processes

Salary range: $60,000-$90,000
