What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for developing a strategic approach to implementing and improving the process of planning Congresses and delivering outstanding customer engagements. As a strategic problem solver, this individual must have strong project management experience, the ability to identify needs, streamline processes and meet deliverables. This role will help support and understand current operations, redefine processes and lead Amgen into a seamless and efficient operating model.
- Work with senior leadership to develop strategy, improve the return on investment and partner with Marketing, Marketing Operations, Sales, Medical, Legal, Regulatory and external vendors to execute.
- Execute the strategic imperatives provided by multiple brands for prioritized congresses.
- Take the lead on sourcing, building and adapting content materials to reflect the strategic imperatives.
- Gain understanding of Amgen’s cross-functional capabilities in the congress space, the incentives and objectives of each unique stakeholder, and effectively become a link between the Commercial and Medical Organizations.
- Understand and capitalize on the objectives of each congress in which a “One Amgen” approach is a priority.

Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of congress management or project management experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 6 years of congress management or project management experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of congress management or project management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in congress planning and execution or 4+ years biotechnology/pharmaceutical project management experience
- Strong project management and organizational skills – the ability to set targets, track achievements, and complete projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Outstanding cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strong computer and database skills (e.g., Microsoft Office products, Smartsheet, MS Teams, Project management software)
- Prior experience working with external partners such as a creative or congress agency
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
- Exhibit high emotional intelligence, with demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate through challenging situations, difficult conversations, and ambiguous assignments
- Outstanding ethics and integrity and able to work in a highly regulated environment

This position will be paid on an hourly basis. The annualized base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $85,832 – $101,357.
