STATUS: EXEMPT

PAY RANGE: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 / Year

*compensation varies based on geography, skills, experience, and tenure

The Associate Project Manager of Construction is responsible for overseeing assigned construction projects, including but not limited to budgets, bidding, negotiating and awarding construction contracts with focus on renovations. The Associate Project Manager of Construction will also oversee construction activities in the field, ensuring close out projects are within approved project budget, schedule and quality/brand standards established along with interacting with other disciplines including operations.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate as a key role in the implementation of construction plans of proposed new structures, redesigns, and approved store fixtures between architects, contractors, vendors
  • Responsible for planning a construction schedule based on site conditions and project scope as outlined in construction plans
  • Collaborate with the Director of Design & Construction to create and manage the budgets for each project, including supplies, materials and labor
  • Review bids with Director of Construction, compare budget costs versus committed costs and award bids prior to proceeding with construction
  • Track and report on store construction projects, subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality standards are met and taking action to rectify any unmet standards
  • Responsible for ensuring timely delivery of project milestones within the given resources, requiring discretion in prioritization of tasks
  • Routinely hold progress meetings to communicate project milestones to stakeholders through reports and written communication
  • Retain any necessary documentation for building/location sites such as but not limited to; contractor and subcontractor lien releases, subcontractor list, warranties, contractor affidavits, air balance reports, certificates of occupancy, and distribute of all landlord required documentation, certificates, etc. as stated in the lease agreements
  • Oversee set up of all utility services for permanent and temporary spaces

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Associate/Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 year’s retail store planning/construction experience
  • General knowledge of retail construction department’s operational procedures, interfaces and plan development requirements
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Fundamental knowledge of building design
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate construction plans verbally and in writing
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required.
