Overview

The Senior Accountant will work in partnership with the Director of Finance to monitor, control, and audit all financial transactions, and to perform a full range of professional accounting duties involved in fiscal management, record keeping, reporting and financial analysis for OVG at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

This role will pay a wage of $70,000 To $80,000.

About the Venue

This position is based at our Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas (KBHCCD) is one of the largest convention centers in the nation. Every year it welcomes over a million visitors attending major national and international conventions, meetings, concerts, athletic competitions, auto shows, and more. Located in the heart of downtown Dallas, the KBHCCD has been and continues to be a fixture in the Dallas skyline offering 1 million square feet of exhibit space, three ballrooms, 88 meeting rooms, 1,750-seat theater, and a 9,816-seat arena. The award-winning facility is connected to a 1,001-room hotel via skybridge and is adjacent to two Vertiport landing pads. Responsibilities

  • Verify & post entries to general ledger accounts
  • Detail processing for accounts receivable and collection calls for outstanding payments.
  • Process Credit Card Merchant activity and checks; and record transactions.
  • Prepares and verifies account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month end closing procedures.
  • Prepares regular reports for the City of Dallas
  • Reconciles AR and/or AP control accounts to detail aging, input journal entries.
  • Prepares and processes accounts payable invoices.
  • Prepare audit work papers and perform analysis of accounts.
  • Assist in compiling budgetary and actual expense data from departments and performs financial analysis
  • Perform related professional accounting work in support of accounting functions.
  • Assist the Director of Finance in preparing documents and interpreting complicated financial information for managers, executives, and C-Suite executives
  • Apply Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to accounting work.
  • Examine and verify a variety of financial documents and reports.
  • Prepare a variety of financial statements, reports, and analyses.
  • Verifies and checks the accuracy of general ledger coding.
  • Assist the Director of Finance to establish new or improve existing financial processes.
  • Operate a computer to perform accounting functions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience. Some experience in building management industry preferred but not required.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, business administration or a closely related field.
  • Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines
  • Must pass background and credit check per guidelines
  • Capable of working with all levels of management
  • Knowledge of Sage 100 preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook required
