About the Security Guard, BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Role:

BRIC seeks Security Guards who will provide a safe and respectful environment by executing a tactful security plan while also ensuring a positive customer experience.

What You’ll Do in the Role:

Security Guards will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by their manager, the Security Supervisor BCB! and the Associate Security Supervisor BCB!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interact professionally and respectfully with festival patrons and employees and provide information as requested
  • Conduct inspections of handbags and packages being carried onto the site
  • Enforce access control procedures in various areas on site
  • Work with Festival Producers to identify and safety issues
  • Enforce BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival policies; intervene and alert Security Supervisor in case of any problems with patrons
  • Learn and assist with implementation of protocols for emergency evacuation plans
  • Respond to emergencies including emergency evacuations and patron incidents
  • Assist Emergency Medical Services personnel while they render medical treatment

  • Must obtain F-03 or F-04 Certificate of Fitness (Fire Guard) issued by the FDNY – BRIC will assist applicants with preparation for the examination
  • High School Diploma
  • Three years of experience as licensed security guard at events
  • Valid NYS Security Officer License
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to enforce rules

Other Things to Know:

  • Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $20/hour.
  • Status and location: This is a seasonal part-time non-exempt role based at the Lena Horne Bandshell at Prospect Park. The time commitment for this position is expected to be June 7 – August 24th, generally 5pm-11pm, Thursdays through Saturdays, with some weekdays included. Pre and post season work will be scheduled as needed.
