Description
The Concession Worker position is responsible to assist in the management of concession inventory, sales, and payment of concession products for the City pools and/or ice arena.
Examples of Duties
The job duties and/or essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor inventory and advise when product stock starts to get low.
- Handle sell of products to patrons, including collection of payment.
- If applicable, collect pool admission fees and accurately record all fees. Assist in recording daily and weekly attendance.
- Daily balancing of cash drawer, including reconciling cash drawer against register tape, completing a deposit slip, and ensuring cash drawer has designated amount for next day’s operations. Report any cash discrepancies to supervisor upon discovery.
- Maintain order in and around concession area. Ensure only authorized personnel are allowed inside concession area.
- Maintain cleanliness of concession area, including keeping product stock well organized, cleaning of concession area and equipment, trash disposal, and other cleaning as directed or apparent.
- Assist in providing direction to patrons in the event of an emergency.
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as are apparent or assigned.
Qualifications
Age 16 or older; Ability to easily work with numbers and familiarity with inventorying merchandise; Previous work in concession operations or customer service desired; First Aid and CPR certification desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and ability to express directions, demonstrate skills, and communicate with children, adults, and co-workers. Knowledge of occupational hazard and safety precautions. The ability to perform the following work activities with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Knowledge of functions and use of cash register and money handling, including ability to add and subtract accurately.
- Ability to maintain accurate record keeping.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to be flexible with work hours, work independently, and complete job tasks as assigned.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, hear within normal hearing range, and possess visual acuity correctable to read common documents.
- Maintain regular attendance.
