KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is part of the KIPP national network. In the 2023-24 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating almost 3,000 students, kindergarten through eleventh grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida:
- KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten – 3rd grade, 6th – 8th grade
- KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten – 8th grade
- KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten – 8th grade
- KIPP Bold City High School: 9th – 11th grade
For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.
- K-8 Staff: 7:30am – 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am – 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm
- High School Staff: 6:45am – 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am – 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm.
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a School Operations Coordinator for the 2023-24 school year, set to start in June 2023. This position is at our McDuff Ave. campus.
Duties:
General Office Duties
- Assist Front Office Coordinators with maintaining a neat, organized, clean, professional, and welcoming environment for visitors
- Carry out general administrative duties; answer phones, update transportation changes, check in tardy students, assist parents with early check-outs, and greet and sign in all visitors
- Make photocopies, assist with faxes, and assist parents/guardians when they visit the school
- Provide front desk coverage for lunch breaks, high visitor times, and days Front Office Coordinators are out of the office
- Coordinate ordering office and printer supplies. Coordinate service of copiers and printers as needed.
Attendance
- Accurately manage daily attendance; updating systems with tardy and early check-out information and excuse notes
- Make personalized calls to families when students are absent and updating student systems with information
- Collaborate with school counselors and Dean of School Operations on excessive absence interventions
Student Records
- Cumulative student records-update and maintain records for students; store records and ensure confidentiality. Check and respond to any records requests for transfer students.
- All paperwork (i.e. excuse notes, report cards) filed in student folders
Enrollment
- Assist Dean of School Operations with new student enrollment and registration, both in person and by phone and e-mail
- Assist Student Information Manager with updating all systems for new student enrollment
Supplies/Upkeep
- Ensure that systems are in place to provide staff with necessary supplies- both individual orders for teachers and common supplies like paper for printers and coffee in workrooms
- Create system of inventorying supplies available and placing school based supplies orders, as needed
- Ensure that printers are working and stocked throughout the school
- Create system for delivering packages and/or notifying staff when packages have arrived
- Create system for school based lost and found
Health and Safety
- Attend first aid and CPR training and respond as needed
- Maintains security by following procedures; monitors visitor management system
- Provide students with daily medication as needed
School Operations
- Support the Dean of School Operations with planning and execution of all on-campus events and field trip including but not limited to parent meetings, concerts, special events, and field lessons. Some of these events may occur outside of school hours.
- Support the Dean of School Operations by completing off campus errands, as needed
- Improve and implement systems that contribute and drive school operations toward operational excellence. Maintain continuous communication with internal and external stakeholders, keeping Dean of School Operations informed and updated on all aspects of school operations; lead, plan, and execute short-term school-based projects.
- Other additional tasks assigned by the school leader and/or Dean of School Operations to ensure operations efficiency.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary for this position is $35,600

Qualifications
Requirements of the position include:
- Associate’s degree
- High level of comfort with Microsoft Office and Google Docs
- High level of comfort with sitting at the front desk using office equipment, computers, entering data, answering phone calls, and greeting visitors for an extended period of time. Comfortable with walking up and down stairs and through school hallways
- Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment; flexible, willing to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Professional, friendly, and adaptable personality; team player who is open to feedback
- Ability to tackle multiple projects and initiatives at once with a strong sense of prioritization

Highly Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in education
- 1 to 3 years in a classroom or a school setting (paraprofessional, substitute, front office, etc.) OR 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience in a front office position (secretary, office coordinator and/or manager)
