Job Summary
Group Leader III employees will work in a variety of school age settings with children ages 5-12.

Starting salary is $16.50 hourly but could be more depending on experience and qualifications.

The City of Lakewood is currently recruiting variable employees for this position. A variable employee is an at-will employee who works in a seasonal or temporary capacity. Their work schedule is based on business need. This position would be a part-time non benefitted position.
Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

Can act in place of a Site Coordinator and perform all supervisor related duties.

Participates in recreational activities. Organize and lead all arts and crafts programs.

General supervision of small groups of children ages 5-12 at local elementary schools and on field trips to venues such as swimming pools, museums and parks.
Provide exceptional customer service to all participants/parents/guardians in the SAS Program.
Work in outdoor and indoor environments.
Performs other duties as assigned such as light cleaning and administrative tasks.
Essential Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have experience working with children.
CPR certification (or receive CPR certification within 2 weeks of hire).
Must have at least three months (460 hours) of full-time or equivalent part-time satisfactory and verifiable experience working with school age children.
Criminal background check is required.

Hours:
We are seeking candidates to work Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:45 am to 5:00pm. Opportunities are available to work up to 40 hours per week during the upcoming summer camp season depending on qualifications and experience. Perfect for students or someone needing a flexible part time job. All job-related training will be provided by the City of Lakewood.

Variable Part-Time employees receive limited benefits, including a pension plan. Medical and dental care are not provided.
