Position SummaryConsists of, but not limited to, customer service, communication, quote generation and COD processing for small construction aggregates customers. Assists customers in making the best selection of materials for each situation. Maintains contact with sales group as to material availability and communicates with logistics personnel as needed.
Requirements
- Develop relationships with COD and small customer segment of construction aggregates buyers
- Assist logistics team with COD & small customer order inquiries, entries, and processing
- Communicate with all levels of personnel and management from all product lines
- Adhere to parameters set by logistics and sales managers with respect to customer pricing
- Effectively administer and communicate quotations, reports and any other data necessary to meet job expectations
- Willingness to learn and grow
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or related field or equivalent experience desired. Work experience may be substituted for education.
- Experience in the construction industry with preferred aggregates or asphalt emphasis.
- Proven customer service skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Industry Knowledge – basic knowledge of how customer uses our products (i.e. pavement bases, concrete plants, asphalt plants, etc.) and basic knowledge of aggregate plant processing, quality control, products, and logistics functions.
- Interpersonal Communication Skills – excellent professional, friendly and business appropriate verbal/written communications to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Technology Capabilities – proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point. Ability to learn internal systems quickly.
- Reliability – Self-starter with excellent planning and administrative skills; excellent time management skills
- Maintain contact with sales group on material availability and product needs
- Ethics and integrity – comply with best practices; exhibit strict compliance with the Company’s Ethics policy and Code of Conduct
- Customer Service – Ability to build strong customer relationships
- Safety – compliance with all company safety policies and procedures and ability to communicate importance of safety to customers
Compensation and BenefitsWe are excited to share the base hourly range for this position is $23.60 – $31.70. The offered compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
