This position is located in Fairfax, Virginia The Retail Management Store Commercial job function develops sales in an efficient and effective way in all media in order to attract more customers. The function optimizes our sales priorities and commercial and forecast activities. Our main responsibilities include developing and executing sales steering, selling the IKEA way, range grouping, pricing, range management and launches. This ensures an enjoyable, convenient and successful shopping and buying experience, which leads to increased sales and sustained long-term profitability.

What you’ll be doing day to day
• Secures a consistent, seamless and positive customer experience through all channels by ensuring they are striving to fulfill the IKEA customer motivators in partnership with unit leadership.: “Is there something for me?”, ” Is it worth it?”, “Can I trust IKEA?”. • Provides a great IKEA shopping and brand experience to drive repeat visitation to the IKEA unit, while ensuring the team is customer-centric. • Conveys and possesses a high level of Interior Design expertise, in order to provide guidance and high level advice around layout/color/style/accessories to residential and business customers who are furnishing complete rooms, homes offices or businesses. • Create relationships with customers to identify customer needs and provide support before, during and after the sales so that customers leave the store with a positive impression. • Applies basic measurement techniques and understanding of planning, design, and construction to ensure customer orders are correct and to specification. • Utilizes specialized knowledge and training in order to sell specialized home furnishing solutions, such as kitchens, bath, storage systems, services, etc. • Oversee day-to-day operation when assigned the responsibility by the Team Leader, including opening and/or closing duties for the unit which also include key and alarm code responsibilities. • Responsible for all unit emergency response including but not limited to escalated customer issues, customer and coworker injuries, first-aid/CPR/AED, emergency protocols, to secure a safe and secure environment. • Ensures implementation of working routines, competence development and follow-up of Commercial Review and Compliance (ASR) related to the role and functions. • Partners with Safety & Security to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and audits regarding inventory integrity, safety, cash, credit, and check handling procedures, internal controls and internal audit standards. • Performs other duties as assigned. • Contributes to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.

JOB TYPE – Hourly, Full Time, 34-40 hours per week BENEFITS ELIGIBLE? Yes HOURS – Candidate must be able to work retail hours based on the business needs of the location including 4 weekend days per month and 1 night a week. The hourly pay range for this role is $23.56-$33.66
