Job Description
Seeking a Safety Representative for a leading energy construction company based in Manchester, CT.
The ideal candidate has experience with Safety Management within a construction or utilities environment. You are a positive and proactive safety leader that leads by example. Must be organized and have the ability to train or present.
What you will do:
Organize, coordinate and maintain the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) activities, including training and compliance, for the respective Operating area. This position receives direction from the Safety Manager and assumes a team member role with other Safety personnel within the company.
• Inspect work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state and federal safety policies and regulations.
• Develop and promote a culture that delivers safe workers and a safe work place.
• Implement accident prevention activities as directed or needed.
• Act as the technical resource in respective Operating area for HSE and DOT related issues.
• Conduct safety orientation and training in a timely, professional manner. Deliver quality presentations.
• Conduct accident investigations on time.
• Assist in injury/illness case management. Avoid injuries becoming OSHA recordable. Make internal and external customer service a top priority.
• Assist Operating area management in executing safety responsibilities and in making safety efforts successful.
• Recommend safety improvement/accident prevention methods.
• Work with Operating area management to integrate HSE into daily work procedures.
Requirements
• College graduate with a focus on Safety Management.
• Any construction experience is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA laws and regulations.
• Current valid driver’s license. Must be able to meet the Company’s driving standards.
