Pay Range

$86,910 – $112,584Annually for the E01.2 level

$104,370 – $135,192Annually for the E01.3 level

Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.

Job Description

We have multiple openings for Business Analysts to develop business and technical process improvement strategies for the Weapons Infrastructure (WI) Program. You will be responsible for managing WI databases and developing business processes using best practices, creating strategic directions and implementation schedules for Safety, Infrastructure and Operations (SIO) G2 tracking and reporting. This position is within the Weapons and Complex Integration (WCI) Directorate.

You will be hired at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

You will

  • Collaborate with Project Managers formulating and developing metrics and track historic financial data and baseline change requests. Work with Project Controls to assess and identify key operational system improvements or troubleshoot data extraction processes for quality information collected for project spend plans, milestone reporting and lifecycle budgets, work breakdown structure coding and reporting monthly project costs.
  • Prepare and monitor performance data and independently develop monthly reports to identify cost trends, schedule variance analysis and schedule impacts, use statistical tools to analyze metrics, and report cost, schedule and milestone risks at meetings and to management, clients and NNSA throughout the lifecycle of projects and preparation of recovery or corrective action plans.
  • Facilitate the definition of end-to-end process goals; documents findings into end-to-end process maps, collaborating withunit/organizational team members, users, and managers.
  • Analyze current SIO business operations processes and work flows; develop alternative approaches, practices and procedures for business process improvements; reform forecasting analysis.
  • Provide specialist-level functional knowledge of database analytical software systems such as Excel, VBA, Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau, or FileMaker Pro suite and database development.
  • Configure and test databases, create streamlined process flow to ensure overall efficiencies are met.
  • Identify and evaluate standards and procedures to improve process efficiency; work to build fully functional and controlled business processes by providing SIO Business Operations group expertise to functional and technical staff.
  • Present solutions to senior business stakeholders and technical staff to identify and develop requirements to enhance the efficiency and integrity of SIO Business Operations Databases.
  • Develop and implement plans to promote culture, diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities at the E01.3 Level

  • Lead projects and provide complex business analysis and consultative support for SIO Business Operations databases, upgrades and implementation for new customers. Document associated new processes and procedures.
  • Lead process improvement project teams, gather complex user requirements, deliver process streamlining methodologies, make recommendations for new system strategies, and communicate solutions to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level security clearance with requires U.S.Citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, information management, economics, decision science, mathematics, or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience gathering, analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data for purposes of documenting functional needs.
  • Experience in the usage of report information and graphing generation and the ability to continually improve reporting capabilities to meet the needs and requirements of the client.
  • Ability to communicate vision effectively; prepare and present business process strategies and plans to all levels of management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively, independently and as a team member with a broad range of knowledge related to Safety, Infrastructure & Operations and business management.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing plans that promote and value diversity, equity and inclusion principles in the workplace.

Additional qualifications at the E01.3 Level

  • Experience leading the analysis and design of business processes, designing, and implementing strategies for improvements.
  • Experience training/mentoring team members on complex technical directions and new systems requirements.
  • Experience developing project plans and proposals including estimating resource requirements.
  • Significant experience including configuration and testing of database analytical software systems such as Excel, VBA, Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau, and FileMaker Pro.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Knowledge of Weapons Infrastructure-SIO organization;.
  • Experience developing integrated strategies for business process improvements and partnering with stakeholders to create long term strategies for improved business processes.
  • Experience developing integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decisions.

Security Clearance
