Summary Support Health, Safety and Training programs and promote a positive safety environment, accident free work environment, while maintaining compliance to regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Conduct industrial lift training (forklift, electric pallet jack, scissor, and boom lift) for new employees, recertification for existing employees, and accurately maintain training records.
Under the direction of the Safety and Training Supervisor, coordinate and conduct safety training in compliance with CAL OSHA and SB198 (IIPP) as well as with federal Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations (Lockout/Tagout, Industrial Truck Training, Emergency Response/evacuation training, Hazcom/MSDS training, Bloodborne Pathogens, etc.).
Coordinate, conduct and track other safety related training programs such as GMP’s, HACCP, Food Defense, and Allergens.
Assist with timely training of safety and quality related training of employees, including tracking employee progress, ensuring employees are adequately trained employee training needs are met.
Assist with monthly safety meetings and perform safety inspections to detect existing or potential safety hazard. Maintain monthly safety meeting agendas/meeting notes, track and monitor corrective or preventative measures to closure.
Assist with annual review/validation of safety policies and procedures.
Reports unsafe conditions and unsafe acts. Tracks corrective actions to closure.
Monitor and review changes to policies and procedures relating to safety and training.

Must have forklift experience.
Ability to promote safety awareness through new employee orientation and in-person training.
Certified forklift train the trainer is a plus.
Production plant experience is a plus.
Education and/or Experience High School diploma and two to four years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have forklift experience.
Language Skills Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and analyze legal documents, common inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies and management.
Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Office or Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Training and or Safety certifications preferred. Must be a lift truck operative, with a recommended minimum of 12 months experience operating a sit down, stand-up, or narrow aisle/reach truck.
