BioTrans LLC is a global logistics provider specializing in cold chain transportation, technology and infrastructure for the life sciences industry.
Shift:
Monday – Friday, with early morning start times (approximately between 1-3 am).
Delivery within New York City, local airports, Connecticut and Philadelphia and other possible area’s depending upon business needs. Flexible schedule with ability to work as needed preferred and additional duties as needed.
Responsibilities:
• Safely operate, load, unload and deliver freight utilizing a small box truck or cargo van
• Adhere to assigned routes and follow time sensitive schedules that require detailed attention
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety
• Ability to navigate surrounding areas using GPS and comfortable with scanning devices
• Comfortable climbing into and out of vehicles repeatedly with no difficulties. Able to lift, bend, stop, twist, move, push and pull up to 40 pounds; tolerate prolonged sitting while driving
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; fuel the truck as needed; evaluate and report issues through the appropriate parties (dispatch/ managers)
• Possible Warehouse duties – Clean, wash and sanitize truck’s
The work is characterized as light work. Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements and Employee Expectations
• Must be at least 21+ years of Age
• Valid driver’s license (CDL NOT required)
• Acceptable driving record (2 or fewer moving violations in the past 3 years and no DWI/DUI in the past 5 years for insurance purposes)
• Must NOT be restricted for access on military bases and government facilities
• Experience driving cargo van’s and small box trucks
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
• Basic computer, tablet and/or smartphone skills, and familiar with scanning devices
• Ability to take and follow directions and work well with others as part of team
• Previous delivery driving experience is a plus
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work as needed preferred
• Communication proficiency – Able to follow verbal and written directions
• Be a quick learner, detail-oriented, dependable, have a positive attitude
