RevOps, Yield Manager, Wondery

The Revenue Operations & Strategy (RevOps) team supports Wondery’s Ad Sales organization by delivering business critical insights and analytics, ensuring cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, as well as leading initiatives that drive sales performance and excellence. We are looking for a Monetization & Yield Manager who will focus on revenue maximization of Wondery’s advertising inventory by providing critical insights around supply and pricing across all our podcasts and channels (Direct, Programmatic, Video).

The ideal candidate will have previously held a similar role in Pricing, Inventory & Yield or Revenue Operations ideally at an entertainment / digital media company or other advertising-driven business. This candidate will have experience creating and implementing monetization strategies that optimize pricing and sell-through of advertising inventory, and is comfortable delivering insights and recommendations to drive decision making regarding our advertising business.

Key job responsibilities

– Report on inventory availability and key supply trends, both at the seller and executive leadership levels

– Build pricing strategies to maximize revenue and be responsible for yield management across all of our various shows and channels

– Lead the efforts on inventory forecasting, developing forecasting models to provide visibility of future available inventory that highlights inventory risks easily

– Manage our rate card and pricing exceptions process

– Support our annual Upfront process by forecasting inventory for 2024 and building annual / semi-annual packages for our top advertising clients

– Create guidelines and rationalize profitability and pricing of custom and sponsorship elements, including pricing thresholds and margin attainment

– Work with our Agency Development team to build Holding Company level rate cards and other partnership agreements

– Serve as a partner to our Content Licensing teams by providing historical inventory analyses to inform future content acquisitions

– Collaborate with Finance to develop revenue budgets and forecasts

– Help optimize overall operations and ensure sales workflows are as efficient as possible

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 6+ years experience in data analysis, preferably in advertising, media or technology, or similar fields

– Experience working within CRMs, Order Management Systems, ad servers, and/or other digital media tech systems

– Experience with manipulating large data sets and bridging together various data sources (dashboards, raw data files, etc.) to drive data-led pricing and inventory decisions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Familiarity with Digital Ad Sales and podcasting a plus

– Ability to use a wide range of built-in functions of Microsoft Excel to perform calculations, manipulate data, and automate tasks, as well as knowledge of creating PivotTables to summarize and analyze large amounts of data efficiently

– Familiarity with basic SQL operations, such as the ability to write and execute queries to retrieve data from a database

– Communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting complex data in a simple and easy-to-understand manner

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
