Candidate Specification
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in design, project management, and project coordination.
- Experience in Transportation related projects, particularly highways and roadways.
- Experience on Caltrans projects is highly desired
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D design software is required;
- Proficiency with MicroStation and InRoads is a plus;
- Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in California
- Strong written and oral communication skills are required and working as a team player is very important for this role.
Salary Range: $125,000 – $140,000

Job Description
Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support our portfolio of work for transportation clients in the Bay Area, CA. This position will be located in the Bay Area, preferably San Jose, CA; however, you will also be supporting projects throughout California.

As a Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for various leadership and project management duties on transportation projects, with an emphasis on highways and roadways. Phases of projects for which management will be required include feasibility analyses; conceptual, environmental clearance, preliminary and detailed design; cost estimating; construction and contract management.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, organizing, coordinating, and working with technical and management groups in the delivery of a range of transportation projects.
- Developing and presenting deliverables to clients for status, updates, reporting to a political board and sub-committees.
- Managing project staff and subconsultants to keep projects on budget and schedule and within agreed upon scope.
- Participating with senior leaders in the establishment of short- and long-term plans for the transportation sector.
- Establishment and execution of plans for account management and business development.
- Through your project efforts and involvement in industry activities, developing and maintaining client relations.
- Actively participating in and supporting internal and external development and training activities.
- Working with Resident Engineer in support of design work.
- May need to take on Design Manager or Lead Engineer roles on large projects.
