Description
BCL currently has 2 exciting opportunities for direct care professionals! These positions allows for the staff member to work full time hours during the weekends (between Friday evening and Monday morning) at a variety of locations. This full-time “floater” position will be trained to work across all of our Residential programs and possibly within our Community Supports Program.
We are looking for someone who is flexible, enjoys community and home based activities, is comfortable working in different environments and making meaningful connections with individuals who recieve services from BCL.
Employees are paid based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement (starting hourly rate is $19.16 with MAP and $17.66 while training for MAP certification) and will receive an additional $1.50 per hour for all hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays. While the hours will remain consistant, the locations will vary week to week.
The schedule is as follows:
FULL TIME:
Saturdays 8:00AM to 11:59PM (16 hours)
Sundays 8:00AM to 11:59PM (16 hours)
3-5 other hours during the week to attend various staff meetings, get trained at homes, etc.
FULL TIME:
Friday 4:00PM to Saturday 8:00AM (16 hours)
Saturday 8:00PM to Sunday 12:00PM (16 hours)
3-5 other hours during the week to attend various staff meetings, get trained at homes, etc.
FULL TIME:
Friday 11:00PM to Saturday 9:00AM (10 hours)
Saturday 11:00PM to Sunday 9:00AM (10 hours)
Sunday 11:00PM to Monday 9:00AM (10 hours)

Overtime is available!
Key Responsibilities
- Attend to the daily needs of consumers on an individual basis as well as foster increased independence and self-determination.
- Teach socialization skills and activities of daily living including: household maintenance; self-care and hygiene; self-awareness and human development, menu planning, food shopping and preparation; money management skills/budgeting; transportation and community orientation; consumer skills; and utilization of community resources.
- Record and appropriately utilize necessary data, daily progress notes, staff log and complete all other ISP and program required documentation.
- Supervise and document self-administration of consumer medications as well as administer and document consumer medications as prescribed by a physician in accordance with agency and program procedures.
- Required to attend all staff training sessions and staff meetings as scheduled.
Working Conditions
- Physical activities include but not limited to climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, etc.
- Exerting in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally.
- Subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
- The worker is subject to hazards such as moving parts, moving vehicles, etc.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED
- All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have had a current US drivers license for 3 years.
- Time management and writing skills
- Successful applicants must be able to successfully pass a CORI check, Drug Test, and a Driving Record Check.
- All applicants must be able to become First Aid, CPR, Human Rights, Safety Care, and MAP certified within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months experience in human services
Salary: $17.66 per hour or as outlined in Collective Bargaining Agreement without MAP certification, $19.16 with MAP certification.
