The Opportunity
The Portfolio Insights and Financial Analysis team is responsible for creating new, modifying existing, and performing ad-hoc reporting in support of business processes and data-driven decision making. Develops a deep understanding of the business/customer and builds positive collaborations. Delivers value through data analysis and reporting and adapts to changing business needs. The right candidate will have the following:
- Outstanding analytical skills required
- High level proficiency with SQL and Tableau required
- Proficiency with Snowflake, python, and clarity is preferred.
- Ability to thoroughly detail complex processes and have a high-level experience with Business Objects
Lead Reporting Analyst position is a hybrid work type and can be based in one of the following locations: Charlotte, NC or San Antonio, TX; Hybrid roles help employees gain the best of both worlds – collaborating in-person in the office and working from home when needed to achieve focused results
What you’ll do:
- Identifies and leads existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
- Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
- Facilitates business projects of the highest complexity, size and visibility ensuring partners champion decision making data needs.
- Leads or advises the design, development and implementation and provides oversight of the maintenance of highly complex and often unique business solutions, which may include data, reporting, business intelligence or analytics.
- Applies a comprehensive understanding of multiple data structures and sources (possesses an expert knowledge of multiple data stores) to Lead or advise highly complex and unique data manipulation using expert data extraction and analytical tools and techniques.
- Authority on the entire life cycle of report development and identifies and implements standard processes
- Applies a well-rounded understanding of the business operations and analytics to influence business strategies and solutions.
- Leads or advises the development of innovative ways to address complex or unique business problems and solutions.
- Responsible for ensuring data governance operating principles are followed and yield efficient and accurate reporting of COSA data for consumption by the Enterprise.
- Coordinates inputs from multiple sources, synthesizes data / information and builds qualitative commentary collecting key messages.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 8 years of experience in data analysis/extraction, statistics, data management, analytics and/or data reporting.
- Experience in identifying multiple sources of data and redefining data into reports to tell the story and tailor presentations as need for audience and purpose.
- Experience crafting reports for presentation to Sr. Leadership, Board of Directors, Committees, etc.
- Experienced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Expert knowledge of data reporting/analysis tools and techniques and ability to use SQL and/or Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, graphs, and charts.
- Expert troubleshooting skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of compliance, risk management, and data security frameworks.
- Experience in creating automated reports and interactive visualizations using tools such as Python and Tableau.

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $104,660 – $199,970.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
