Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with Kitchen Aide responsibilities
- Assist with custodial duties at senior centers in case of program emergency
- Assist with pick-up and delivery of congregate meals to other program sites if needed
- When necessary pick up/ drop off interoffice mail
- Packing of home-delivered meals
- Deliver packed food to homebound clients and food satellites including holiday and or emergency food packages
- Report to coordinator any difficulty with meals delivery or change in clients status as well as inability to deliver
- Maintain accurate daily log of meals delivered and contributions collected
- Deliver program material and information to homebound clients
- Move, unpack and store food and supplies as required
- Assist in scheduling meal delivery to minimize time and distance between delivery points
- Perform duties as required by the supervisor of the site
COMPETENCIES
- Ability to walk long distances and climb stairs
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Some knowledge of the area and/or ability to read maps and follow directions
- Some knowledge of and a genuine concern for the physical, mental and emotional needs of older persons
- Able to lift heavy objects (a minimum of 25 pounds)
- Must be able to work independently
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma preferred but not required
