Registered Dietitians at the Department of Recreational Sports are provided with a private office space, computer, and relevant technology. Dietitians will also have access to RecSports marketing channels and materials for promotional opportunities. Dietitians are provided access to all RecSports facilities, fields, and programs, including group fitness, weight and cardio rooms, Lake Wauburg, intramural sports, and more!
RecSports Team Members Responsibilities
- Develop professional relationships with co-workers, participants and guests
- Uphold and exceed the expectations of the Cornerstones of RecSports Service: accountability, anticipating needs, attitude, and atmosphere
- Demonstrate a desire to learn and apply knowledge as a RecSports ambassador
- Take ownership of RecSports facilities and programs by exhibiting a responsible work ethic
- Promote and maintain cleanliness and appearance within and surrounding RecSports facilities
- Enforce RecSports policies and procedures to promote participant safety and satisfaction
- Respond to all emergency situations and adhere to established protocol including pre- and post-incident procedures
- All RecSports employees are expected to abide by the RecSports Staff Code of Conduct that clarifies shared expectations and standards in effort to best serve our patrons and develop each team member
Area Specific Job Responsibilities
- This is a part-time position that will not exceed 20 hours per week.
- Dietitians are paid an hourly wage for client contact hours. For every Initial Consultation and Follow-Up appointment, Dietitians are expected to arrive 15 minutes before any scheduled client contact hours and stay 15-30 minutes after all appointments to complete administrative tasks and client charting; dietitians will be compensated accordingly for this time.
- Dietitians will be expected to log chart notes in the ADIME format.
- Collaborative spirit of warmth, acceptance, respect, and trust towards colleagues and clients.
- Know scope of practice and act accordingly maintaining client privacy under HIPAA and FERPA.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Attend all mandatory meetings.
- In addition to one-on-one client hours, Dietitians will be requested to conduct presentations, group sessions, and speed sessions with the UF community and allocating appropriate time towards content development.
- Business casual attire expected.
Advertised Salary:
$28.00-$35.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants applying for this requisition may be hired as either Student Assistants or OPS employees. If hired, applicants who are full-time University of Florida students will be hired as Student Assistants; all other applicants will be hired as OPS employees.
This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- Experience: Two years experience minimum, experience with disordered eating, eating disorders, or athletes favored
- Maintain Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credentials with the Commission on Dietetic Registration- active & clear
- Maintain State of Florida’s Department of Health Dietetics Nutritionist License – active & clear
- Interest in holistic health and wellbeing using a weight-neutral approach
- Dietitians are required to have availability for at least 10 hours per week spread across a minimum of two days. Two or more of these hours must be consecutive and fall between Monday through Friday 8 AM – 5 PM
Operating Hours: Monday through Friday 8 AM – 8 PM, Saturday & Sunday 8 AM – 4 PM - Complete and maintain UF online trainings: GET803, OOC101, PRV800, PRV802, ITT102
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree
- Three or more years of applicable experience
- Experience with disordered eating, eating disorders, or athletes
