Class Summary
Assigned to: Casper Ice Arena
Incumbents are responsible for coordinating an assigned recreational program.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Receives direct supervision from higher-level supervisory and management staff.
Typical Class Essential Duties
1. Identifies, coordinates, implements, and monitors assigned recreational programs including identifying customer needs, scheduling appropriate recreational facilities, enforcing facility rules, collecting applicable fees, and preparing bank deposits.
2. Schedules recreational staff according to program needs; coordinates facility and program schedules.
3. Assists Recreation Supervisor in overseeing compliance with State alcohol and food service laws, regulations, and best practices.
4. May lead and assist in selection and training of part-time, temporary, or contract staff.
5. Purchases program materials and supplies as needed; ensures purchases are within the parameters of the program budget.
6. Develops marketing materials such as brochures and newsletters, updates assigned website, and markets recreational programming to the community.
7. Implements program policies and procedures by modifying work practices and informing recreational staff on changes in policies and procedures.
8. Maintains records of activities and prepares operational reports.
9. Recommends and implements revisions to program fees and budgets.
10. Communicates with the public regarding fees, policies, rules, and general information about programs or the recreation facility.
11. Represents the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.
12. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Training, Experience & Certifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required.
• Minimum one year of experience planning and/or implementing a recreation program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed below.
• Associates degree in sports, tourism, recreation management, or a closely related field preferred.
LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS
• Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol per Wyoming State Law.
• Possession of a valid Wyoming Driver’s License preferred.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification within six (6) months of hire.
• Possession of a Learn to Skate Instructor Certification preferred.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid TIPS Certification within one (1) month of hire.

Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
Incumbent is subject to perform duties either indoors or outdoors, which may include extreme climate/weather conditions (warm humid indoors/unpredictable weather outdoors) and ongoing exposure to sun and pool chemicals such as chlorine. The nature of duties involves constant mental and visual attention. Incumbents in this position will be in situations where they may experience critical/traumatic events and need to have the ability to quickly move between workspaces.
Duties include being around customers who drink alcohol and this position may require maintaining order while a customer is impaired by alcohol.
