The Boeing Company is currently looking for talented Real Time Software Engineers (Associate and Experience) to support Boeing’s Software Engineering Behavioral Modeling and Simulation Integration team in Seattle, WA.
Do you love airplanes? Are you interested in how they work? Want to learn how to simulate them? Boeing’s Software Engineering Behavioral Modeling team is growing from the grass roots, developing the airplane behavioral simulation to expand even more into the world of Model Based Engineering and Design. The team is looking for passionate engineers for developing airplane systems expertise as well as creativity to generate computer models of airplane systems for future airplane design, test, and analysis endeavors.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate and Experienced Software Quality Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, update, and integrate code using Matlab Simulink and/or C/C++ representing the mathematical and physics behavior of airplane engineering systems
- Integrate complex software components into a fully functional software system
- Develop software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, execute the test procedures and documents test results to ensure software system requirements are met
- Exercise critical thinking and innovative problem solving
- Develop and execute software project and process plans, implements policies and procedures
- Develop documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Gather information to support software project management
- Document deployed processes and tools and collect metrics
- Support software research and development projects Test and Troubleshoot in different environments including desktop and lab test stations
- Interact and interface with various partners
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- Experience with one or more of the following programming languages (C, C++, Fortran, Python, Matlab, etc.)
- Experience with model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to understand complex airplane systems design, functionality, and architecture
- Ability to troubleshoot in methodical manner
- Good documentation skills and mindset
- Familiar with basic Unix commands
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to navigate through ambiguity work with given information
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience ). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for Associate (Level 2): $90,950 – $123,050
Summary pay range for Experienced (Level 3): $112,200 – 151,800
