Project Manager II/Project Manager III – National Defense Program Operations

This position is for an experienced project manager who can help program teams manage the cost, schedule and earned value execution through managing operational projects and assignments for multiple government programs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Facilitate the operations and logistics aspects of multiple National Defense programs, managing small- to medium-sized operations projects in support of program execution.
  • Create and maintain program briefings and status reports for internal and external audiences. Examples include new staff on-boarding briefings and program monthly business and design reviews across multiple programs.
  • Facilitate standing telecoms, meetings, proposal milestones, and program events from start to finish, including capture and tracking of action items to ensure deliverables are complete and issues are closed.
  • Work with C&DM to ensure SOW, DID and GR&As are tracked and tracked and updated regularly.
  • Look for and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement of program execution processes and tools, including identifying and communicating risks and opportunities.
  • Manage facilities and IT needs for multiple programs, including office space, equipment, etc.
  • Act as liaison between ND Operations, Program Management Office, project teams, functional management, and other SBU’s in support of program execution.
  • Keep IPT leads apprised of upcoming SDRL delivery dates (30, 60, 90 day lookahead) and track, compile and finalize.
  • Update and maintain program contact rosters, including phone trees, email distribution, and organizational charts.
  • Update and maintain SharePoint sites for programs, including facilitation of data transfers between networks.
  • Receive top level direction, seek clarification where needed, break down higher level goals into more immediate tasks, arrange those tasks in a coherent plan and communicate that vision to a wide range of team members and stakeholders.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You’ll Need:

  • Project Manager II – BS/BA in a related field plus 6 or more years related experience.
  • Project Manager III – BS/BA in a related field plus 8 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • A history of performance demonstrating skills as a self-starter who is well organized, has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Experience with the MS Office suite of tools. Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Project is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • A solid understanding of all aspects of project planning, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective in multidisciplinary large-team work environment with broad responsibilities and minimal oversight.

Full-Time On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site full-time. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR PROJECT MANAGER II: $91,500 – $124,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
  • HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR PROJECT MANAGER III: $111,000 – $154,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
