Electrical Products is a business unit of Siemens Smart infrastructure. Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI) is shaping the market for intelligent, adaptive infrastructure for today and the future. Electrical Products provides the low voltage distribution and control systems and components that support SI solutions.
The Project Manager will report into Smart Infrastructure, Electrical Products for North America, International Operations – Strategy & Process Technology department which is responsible for operational strategy and advance process development through all SI EP facilities.
The Project Manager for Digital Project Implementation will lead multidisciplinary teams that will implement project focus on the digitalization of production methods from customer configuration through delivery of products. Success will be measured from the adoption rate and sustainable use of these methods in complex electrical/mechanical products and related manufacturing environment. Typical gains will include productivity, speed, error reduction, data acquisition, and flexibility in comparison to traditional production methods. The project manager must be able to frame and translate the technical aspects into commercial aspects.
You will make an impact by:
– Develop business plans that define the benefit, costs, schedule, scope and risks of a project.
– Execute projects within the defined requirements (e.g., budget, time, functionality).
– Ensure business success and satisfaction of the customer and ensures professional stakeholder management.
– Ensure timely decisions on open issues, identification of risks, escalating if necessary.
– Preserve, and potentially improve, the return on investment initially established by the first phases of the project by synergizing and learning through the implementation.
In a leadership role, the project manager is expected to:
– Lead a network of technical specialists, divided into sub-teams, to realize the digital strategy and all related aspects from beginning to end of process area(s) affected (from order entry to delivery and field service) and across the scope of operations or related supply chain.
– Coordinate across the Engineering, Operation and Procurement disciplines and assures the cooperation required with involved regional and/or global units including their interfaces.
– Perform technical risk management and actively mitigate risks proactively throughout the project life.
– Provides updates to senior management.
Each project will have a defined project charter where the specific goals for a digital project are outlined, the project manager will become responsible as the charter is adopted by a given team.
Key Success Factors:
– Appling project management methodology and processes
– The ability to work effectively with all facets of the organization from design to manufacturing.
– Providing diligent and transparent Project Reporting and Controlling including formal reports.
– Achieving project goals including preserving the ROI established during the initial phases of the project detailed in the business plan. Key business decisions must be evaluated as to their potential impact to that project success factors especially ROI, schedule, and resources.
– Refining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
– Developing and framing full-scale projects and associated communications plans for each phase of the project including future strategic phases.
– Monitoring & predicting project performance to ensure achievement of approved timeline at planned milestones, manage the project team(s), manage budget performance, and manage resources.
– Utilizing skills to ask questions to open dialog, check assumptions, and resolve conflicts. Identify risks involved in the project and provide mitigation direction.
– Driving a high-performance ownership culture.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
– Project Management (PM) experience (scheduling, budgeting, resourcing, prioritizing, risk identification and mitigation) (Prefer PMP Certification or equivalent) with proven project successes.
– Minimal 2 years’ experience managing large, complex projects.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Relationship building including motivating multidisciplinary teams.
– Direct experience in Engineering (Prefer a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree: Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Mechatronics)
– High proficiency in PM and communication tools (Excel, Word, Project & Visio)
– Knowledge of Safety in industrial production
– Prefer experience in the electrical apparatus / power distribution and control industry.
– Travel required: initial 2 years 20%, subsequent years up to 40%; level of travel has some dependency on location.

• The pay range for this position is $97,100 – $166,600 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. . The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
