SALARY: The salary range for this position is $96,989.82 to $145,172.94. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an experienced manager to join the Data Analytics & Research division within the Administrative Office of the Courts. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Data Analytics & Research within Trial Court Services. This position is a key leadership position driving the evolution of the New Jersey Judiciary’s data warehouse and associated data analytics tools, thereby supporting the organizational goal of improving data literacy and enhancing our data-driven decision-making capabilities. The candidate will be required to be able to communicate effectively with both business leaders (i.e. County/Vicinage Operational and Central Office management at all levels) as well as our technical partners within the Information Technology Office. In addition, this position also serves as a key partner to other agencies within the state to assess and implement data sharing agreements as required.
REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 3 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

- Management of a 12-15 person team of analysts and technicians responsible for:
- data governance (including data inventory, catalog and classification)
- data architecture in support of reporting & analytics
- data transformation requirements
- reporting requirements
- dashboard development (Tableau and Power BI)
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and five years of professional administrative and/or program management experience, preferably related to business analysis supporting applications development and/or business intelligence initiatives. Three years supervision of staff is also required.
Previous experience in data warehousing (and associated creation of data marts/data lakes), and the related data engineering and data analytics tool creation, is preferred. Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills are critical to the success of the individual in this position. Candidate would ideally also possess knowledge of court case processing and familiarity with court operations.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate’s degree and two years of additional professional experience may be substituted for the required bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience as indicated above -OR- a law degree may be substituted for two years of experience as indicated above.

Driver’s License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the “New Jersey First Act,” all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
