The Opportunity

Abt Associates is the lead implementer for the USAID-funded Local Health Systems Sustainability (LHSS) project. The Local Health System Sustainability (LHSS) Project is a 5-year, $209 million global task order that works to strengthen health systems to achieve universal health coverage and improve population health and well-being. Interventions will focus on reducing financial barriers, holding health services accountable for meeting all clients’ needs and making sure that the care patients receive meets minimum standards.

As a Project Management Analyst (PMA) you will work on the LHSS core-funded work portfolio to support the development of priority global public goods to strengthen health systems in USAID focus countries. You will also support tasks under the project’s global learning strategies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support administrative needs of technical teams including organizing external and internal meetings, note-taking and dissemination for team meetings/calls, organizing project documents and project files and other tasks/duties, as needed
  • Maintain implementation trackers based on project feedback
  • Other programmatic and administrative tasks/duties, as needed
  • Support desk research and literature review needs for technical deliverables and technical products/reports
  • Contribute to drafts of deliverables and sections of deliverables including work plans, quarterly reports, annual reports, and other technical products/reports; provide basic formatting and editing support for deliverables.
  • Draft communications products such as success stories, newsletter articles, web updates, stories and features for website and other external sources

What We Value

  • Bachelor’s Degree + Two years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree
  • MPH and 1-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in public health, health economics, global health, international development, or another relevant field preferred
  • Experience managing administrative and technical aspects of large international development programs, preferably USAID-funded projects, with successful track experience.
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Experience conducting literature reviews and research
  • Previous experience drafting work plans, quarterly reports, and technical documents preferred.
  • French and/or Spanish language skills preferred
  • Computer skills especially in MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $56,618.52 to $79,265.93, and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
