ENGIE North America is seeking a Project Engineer I – Measurement & Verification (M&V). The M&V Engineer I based in Overland Park KS, is responsible for validating energy savings and providing ongoing measurement and verification activities of projects with performance-based energy savings guarantees. This role will be expected to be involved in all phases of the project to help oversee and ensure M&V is being developed and executed accurately and contractually.
What you’ll do:
- Comply with and require of others all ENGIE safety policies and procedures
- Assist supervisor in developing M&V protocols and pricing for new projects
- Assist with coordinating technician and subcontractor M&V activity as needed
- Conduct on-site measurements and data collection during pre and post retrofit periods as needed
- Analyze customer facilities usage patterns to establish necessary baselines and trends
- Assist supervisor with customer relations whether on-site or through delivery of annual reconciliation reports
- Work with field technicians and remote monitoring support personnel to monitor and evaluate equipment and system performance, reviewing equipment failures, analyzing availability/reliability information. Follow-up actions, based on identified problems, trends, and root cause determinations, are timely and effective
- Support operational reviews, performance analysis, and system commissioning
- Act as a team member with ENGIE Customer Care (post-construction services) and collaborate with members of the ENGIE team at other sites across various businesses
- Work multiple projects concurrently including supporting future business development projects as needed
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required
- CEM or CMVP preferred
- Some experience preferred
- Strong engineering, analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan and work independently
- Experience with HVAC, building automation, domestic water, lighting and other electrical systems
- Excellent computer and analytical skills; expertise in Microsoft Office (excel pivot tables, advanced formula’s)
- Proficiency with the concepts and principles of the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP)
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor, directors
- Regional office flexibility

- Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and the ability to interface professionally with internal and external customers
- Ability to travel to customer sites / ENGIE branch offices for short term assignments as required (up to 25%)
- Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
- Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license
- Lift 25 lbs. of weight
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to touch or feel and use tools
- The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, or crouch
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- While performing the duties of this job, in the field, the employee is frequently exposed to heat and cold
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions

- Salary Range: $51,425.00 – $130,650.00 USD annually
- Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
- In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan
