Role description:
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. As an Office Engineer/Administrator, you will utilize your experience and technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure, water and wastewater facilities and general building projects to successfully execute and manage programs, under the supervision of the Resident Engineer or Construction Manager and help us build and grow our practice.
Role accountabilities:
- Responsible for the Contractor payment process and recommends appropriate adjustments as necessary to manage the Contractor.
- Maintain organized logs to track contractor payments as well as Line H increases and decreases.
- Coordinate NYCDEP, CM and Contractors to maintain transparency during payment auditing. Organize all necessary information and provide responses to auditor questions and comments as needed.
- Assist other staff in processing and submitting subcontractor approval requests
- Open new projects and tasks in Oracle for Arcadis staff timesheets
- Assist Resident Engineer in preparing monthly financial reports
- Other Duties Assigned
- Uses effective oral and written communication skills to effectively lead progress, project, safety, scheduling and other contract administration meetings with client, local agencies and the community.
Qualifications & Experience:

- Prior experience as an Office Engineer/Administrator in NYC
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated commitment to providing a safe and healthful workplace.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of Office Engineering experience specifically for NYCDEP, NYCDDC, NYC Parks, NYS Parks, NYCHA or NYPA. Specific experience working with processing Contractor payments is a benefit.
- Strong relationships with NYCDEP personnel.
- Interest and ability to network, support proposals and contribute to firm growth in the NYC construction market.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start date, and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $65,000 – $97,000.
