Progression Designer, New World

We are looking for a Progression Designer to join the New World team. New World is an Open World MMO that pits players against the haunted wilderness of Aeternum, a mysterious island in the twilight of the Age of Exploration

Key job responsibilities

As a Progression Designer, you will be a key part of the team that owns the progression, crafting and reward systems in New World. You will collaborate with other designers to create chase worthy gear and maintain systems that keep players engaged in content. The ideal candidate has an understanding of what makes rewards in New World compelling.

Key job responsibilities include:

– Define and implement rewards for all content in New World

– Implement a rewards map and plan for future content

– Balance existing rewards and respond to feedback around the live game

– Help balance and maintain the player driven economy

– Design and implement new systems related to crafting and player progression

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 3+ years of Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience

– 2+ years as a content/progression/systems designer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Familiarity with New World

– Deep understanding of progression, gearing, and end games in MMOs

– Data analysis proficiency

– Experience designing, implementing and managing large numbers of game assets

– Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role.

– Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $64,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $154,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
