Programmer/Analyst

Berkeley College is seeking a highly skilled Programmer/Analyst to join our team. In this critical role, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a wide range of custom software systems that support the College’s administrative and academic functions. As a core member of the team, the Programmer/Analyst will be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance and support.

This position is remote, but candidates must be based in the following states: NY, NJ, CT, FL

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in close collaboration with the College’s functional departments to gain a deep understanding of their requirements and craft custom solutions that align with their needs.
  • Design, develop, and maintain a variety of software systems that support the College’s administrative and academic functions.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Effectively translate complex business requirements into clear and actionable technical specifications.
  • Conduct ongoing maintenance and enhancements to existing applications, proactively identifying areas for improvement to ensure they remain aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Provide expert technical support to end-users, proactively identifying and resolving issues as they arise, and offering guidance and training as needed.
  • Demonstrate an ability to learn new systems quickly and adapt to evolving requirements while staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies.

Required Technical Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in software development and analysis with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in PeopleSoft development required, including a strong working knowledge of App Designer, Records, Pages, Components, PeopleCode, and App Engines. Campus Solutions experience preferred.
  • Advanced SQL skills with a proven ability to work with complex database structures.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint O365 development preferred, with experience in designing and implementing custom solutions.
  • Experience with modern Salesforce development preferred, including a demonstrated ability to develop custom solutions, integrations, and data migrations.
  • Strong understanding of modern web development and web services, including expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs.

Salary Range: $75,000 to $100,000 per year

Education:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (preferred) and/or equivalent experience/training.
