Program Manager, Worldwide Operations Sustainability

This position can be based in Bellevue, WA or in San Francisco, CA, with a requirement to work from an Amazon corporate office building three days a week.

Key job responsibilities

– Collaborate cross-functionally with Amazon operations teams and global regions to develop and scale mechanisms for long-term carbon emissions forecasts and decarbonization strategies.

– Track progress towards sustainability goals, ensuring alignment and coordination of efforts across diverse operations businesses.

– Coordinate with finance to drive sustainability planning in Amazon’s business operations cycles.

– Establish robust reporting mechanisms for senior leadership to monitor sustainability progress.

– Collaborate with Worldwide Sustainability, finance, business intelligence and product teams on carbon data governance, substantiation, and reporting solutions.

– Drive stakeholder education and awareness of sustainability initiatives through effective communication mechanisms.

– Build and manage an intake mechanism for internal and external inquiries.

– Support system maintenance and improvement, including collaboration software and permissions.

– Support cross-organizational initiatives, including summit events and Earth Month activities.

A day in the life

This role will work closely with sustainability program and product managers, data and business intelligence, finance partners, and senior leaders to develop and implement organization-wide strategies to achieve our sustainability goals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 3+ years of program or project management experience

– Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

– Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

– Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

– Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment

– Experience working in a matrixed organization

– Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

– Writing and presenting business documents

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

– 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

– Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

– Experience writing and presenting documents to skip-level leaders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
