General Description
The primary responsibility of the Youth Sport Program Coordinator is to provide quality programs through the organization and supervision of programs. The Program Coordinator works under the general supervision of the Recreation Supervisor. Will have 2-3 program leaders to support the facilitation of the program.
The Youth Soccer Program Coordinator would oversee the indoor Instructional Youth Soccer Program for ages 4-8. This program places emphasis on learning basic soccer skills, and rules while focusing on sportsmanship and fun. The program offers multiple, 50 minute weekly sessions and meets on Saturday mornings from 8:30-11:30am, November 4 to December 16 at and Saturday Mornings January 29 to March 2nd at Northside Elementary School. Spring & Summer instructional classes are also available.

Job Functions
• Be 15 minutes early to prepare for program.
• Maintain accurate records of class attendance, for questions from parents and ease of running activities.
• Prepare lesson plans in advance for the program.
• Be prepared with proper attire and footwear.
• Review program area and remove any debris which may cause harm.
• Set up area for program and make sure all surfaces are clean and restroom and water facilities are available.
• Demonstrate the activity skills in a professional and understandable manner.
• Communicate with parent/guardian of participants as needed.
• Maintain an effective, cordial and friendly attitude at all times (refer to general rules).
• Know plan in case of emergency or inclement weather. Provide a safe environment for participants at all times.
• Inform Recreation Supervisor of any accidents or injuries and complete accident forms when necessary.
• Complete shift change form and have Recreation Supervisor’s approval in a timely manner.
• Provide constant supervision of participants at all times, insuring the activity is never left unattended.
• Enforce and follow the rules at all times. Supervising your participants until they have left the program and delivered to their guardians is essential. No participant should be left unattended.
• Supervise, direct, and work closely with co-workers in a professional and friendly manner. Work together to problem solve and provide and exceptional program.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor.
• Store equipment in the proper area in a clean and organized fashion.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the sport/program coordinating which may include previous participation, coaching, officiating, volunteering or formal education and/or training in program/sport area.
Education, Training and Experience
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• CPR/First Aid Training preferred.
