Position Summary and Duties:

  • Serve as a greeter to students and others entering the department, attending to their questions and directing them to the proper faculty member
  • Manage department database (Microsoft Excel); run queries as requested
  • Collaborate with department chairs and coordinators to develop and implement promotional strategies to increase enrollment in both departments
  • Event planning: Annual Business Advisory Council; Pfeiffer Center events; OwnIt! Women’s Entrepreneurial Conference, and others as requested
  • Use Microsoft Office to produce error-free documents and reports, as requested by department faculty. Proofread faculty-generated documents as requested
  • Plan and perform department orientation for adjuncts
  • Input into Banner and verify accuracy of class schedules, classrooms, instructors, and other required information
  • Take accurate minutes at department meetings and others as requested; distribute to members
  • Assist faculty in setting up and confirming advising and other appointments
  • Run Banner reports such as class rosters, enrollment reports, open class lists, student information.
  • Produce adjunct faculty contracts and maintain faculty pay scale records (department database)
  • Maintain department records and files
  • Distribute and tally results of adjunct faculty evaluation surveys
  • Assist with course assessment and program reviews
  • Assist the Education Coordinator in field placements
  • Order supplies, make copies, take messages, and various other clerical tasks
  • Perform other duties as requested by department chair

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently, but also serve as part of team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Evidence of strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Follow-up and follow-through on assigned duties and requests
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of descriptive statistics (frequency, mean, median, etc.)
  • Event planning organization
  • Associate Degree
  • Must be able to work in-person at the SUNY Ulster Campus
