What You’ll Do:

Ohio Department of Public Safety – Ohio State Highway Patrol
Report In Location: 740 East 17Th Avenue, Columbus, 43211
[CURRENTLY HYBRID ELIGIBLE] Will report into the office 3 days a week and telework 2 day a week. Subject to change.

Within the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), Office of Recruitment & Diversity, acts for administrator & provides program direction by relieving superior of non-routine administrative duties related to the OSHP Diversity Programs (e.g.; independently answers complex &/or confidential correspondence; serves as liaison between administrator & subordinates; attends meetings & conferences & issues directives on behalf of the Diversity Officer & Assistant Diversity officer; etc.); Develops, expands, & facilitates diversity training for all personnel to include annual C.A.R.E. training, individual diversity trainings, mentorship program training, leadership training, etc.; Administers the Diversity Office Professional Operations Review Process (e.g.; compiles, analyzes, & distributes quarterly & semi-annual professional operations reports to district evaluators; tracks evaluation assignments & completions; serves as liaison to OSHP personnel in each district & provides technical advice to district evaluators; stores records in accordance with appropriate records retention schedule; schedules & facilitates evaluator trainings; identifies trends in evaluator findings & develops plans to incorporate those findings into relevant trainings; etc.); Formulates & implements program policies related to the Division’s diversity program (e.g.; analyzes & evaluates policies & procedures; provides technical advice for policy development & enhancement; assists with decision making on policy issues; etc.); Participates on strategic planning & action planning committees as assigned; Manages office functions (e.g.; prepares & distributes monthly staff activity report; maintains the OSHP Diversity Office events & contacts access databases; administers special programs & projects; etc.).

Develops program materials & book recommendations for the Diversity Office special project, One Book, One Division program (e.g.; creates monthly content on the associated Microsoft Teams page; drafts program inter-office communications; maintains records & ensures program compliance for Assessment Center/CEC credit; develops monthly discussion questions & associated supporting content; etc.); Provides administrative, developmental, & technical support for the cadet & women mentorship programs (e.g.; develops policy & trainings for the program; maintains program rosters & annual compliance checks; processes program registrations; prepares match materials for incoming cadets; schedules, prepares materials, & assists with the facilitation of cadet mentorship match meetings; conducts periodic check-ins with all program participants; etc.); Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver’s license.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver’s license.

-Or 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in business administration, management science or public administration. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver’s license.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
