This is an internal agency employment opportunity for current employees, including OPS, of the Department of Financial Services, the Office of Financial Regulation, and the Office of Insurance Regulation.
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or a related field of study from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Additional preferences:
- Professional experience in disbursements (accounts payable)
- Professional experience in either reviewing, managing or monitoring contracts and or grants.
- Professional experience interpreting and applying laws, rules and agency policies.
The base annual salary for this position is $45,308.76.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of accounting principles, auditing procedures, laws and rules. Requires the ability to work from a concept and develop logical conclusions and recommendations regarding special assignments. Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and procedures. Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, rules and regulation, policies and procedures. Ability to write technical accounting and audit reports. Ability to identify and define user task needs. Knowledge of Word, Access and Excel.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This is a professional accounting/auditing position involving the independent application of accounting and auditing concepts, principles, theories, and technical skills. This position will be conducting pre-audits of payments and expanded audits of payments, as well as reviewing contracts and grants for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules and CFO Memoranda.
