Production Manager
Verde Farms
Pedricktown, NJ
Salary range $90K to $105K, plus bonus, commensurate with experience
Verde Farms is seeking a Production Manager, responsible for the daily operational and financial performance of Verde’s processing operation. The Production Manager oversees day-to-day production and quality and works closely with the maintenance and warehouse managers to ensure operations are executed. The Production Manager will also direct Production Supervisors and ensure production and efficiency goals are being met in an environment that respects employee safety.
Production Manager Qualifications
- 5 -7 years of experience in a supervisory or management role at a food production facility, preferably in the meat industry; meat processing experience also preferred
- Knowledge of HAACP and sanitation methods
- Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with Excel; ability to analyze performance and financial information
- Experience with OEE tracking systems preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly collaborative, perceptive, and operates with integrity

Production Manager Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate production related operations, ensure a safe and effective operating environment while working to optimize efficiency and quality
- Oversee hiring and training of personnel; foster and develop a trained and motivated staff
- Enable, coach and guide effective teams
- Assure compliance throughout the organization, including adherence with our HACCP plan
- Work with production planner and supervisors to coordinate production activities; ensure customer orders are filled completely and in a timely manner
- Work with materials, equipment and service providers to ensure effective relationship management and performance
- Serve as the lead safety advocate while recognizing, documenting and correcting any safety issues in order to ensure a safe work environment at all times
- Work closely with Maintenance Manager to plan for routine and preventative maintenance to ensure minimal downtime while maintaining equipment standards
- Work closely with Warehouse Manager to ensure appropriate use of existing inventory, cleanliness, safety and inventory management
- Acts as a key driver of process improvement and problem solving using continuous improvement methods to improve production efficiency and plant safety
- Assist all teams with goal setting and tracking for all measures within the plant
- Execution of company disciplinary procedures in collaboration with HR
- Maintain a team environment and high employee morale
- Work with our partners in the facility to address any facility issues which may impact operations
- Oversee plant budget and profitability, working with Finance on weekly and monthly reporting, including analysis of variances
