What You’ll Do
With our Salesforce CRM (Customer Relationship Management) platform, we aspire to deliver on outcomes that help differentiate our sales, servicing, and marketing teams as well as provide a foundation of operational stability and efficiency. As a Product Owner on our Enterprise CRM Platform team, you’ll play a key role in helping shape and mature our Leads and Security & Identity Management capabilities. Those capabilities within our CRM’s ecosystem are critical in creating new & enhancing current experiences of our customers, distribution partners, and employees.
You’ll play a critical role in supporting our CRM platform product that:
- Articulate & implement the product vision, strategies, roadmaps and advance key enterprise and platform capabilities to achieve broader organizational goal
- Develop solutions guided by the vision and strategy Salesforce
- Provide relevant insights with influence and data to internal business partners who are delivering consumer solutions for Principal’s financial success
- Create enablement, provide ops & services support and bring innovation within technology and platform domain that is focused on future growth
- Advocate for efficient operations/processes, best practices, and a secure platform foundation along with leading, influencing and collaborating with partners
You will have an opportunity to:
- Gather requirements from business team members and craft epics/features for our Salesforce engineering teams to prioritize
- Bring a multi-disciplinary background that blends technical and business insight. You’re passionate about discovering the problems and generating value proposition through solution hypothesis
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to build and enhance impact. Partner deeply and often with engineering, business units, program managers, operating teams, customer experience teams, etc.
- Be a change agent establishing true product management practices within EEE (Enterprise Experiences Enablement) product lines

Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of Business or Product Owner experience including;
- Gathering & breaking down requirements from partners and
- Grooming and prioritizing a backlog with numerous partners and contending priorities
- 2+ years of Salesforce platform experience (admin, developer, etc.)
- Exceptional communication skills including the ability to influence with partners at all levels of the company
- Strong critical thinking, collaboration and decision making skills
- Deep technical capability – ability to understand high-level technical aspects of the work, communicate with engineers, translate to business partners, etc.
Additional preferred skills/experience such as
- Working in a complex multi-tenant Salesforce environment
- Salesforce Security & Identity Management
- Salesforce security controls
- Who sees what
- Salesforce Lead Management
- Lead capture, scoring, and lifecycle
- Understanding strategy and creating an aligned vision
- Working closely with CX/UX
- Participating in Process or journey mapping with CX teams to understand customer journey
- Familiarity with Agile methodology, Atlassian products (Confluence, JIRA…), and delivery through proven practices
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$77400 – $182400 / year

Work Environments
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
