Edina Public Schools is accepting applications for a Principal’s Administrative Assistant (10-month Classification A) at Highlands Elementary to provide support to building administration by answering inquiries, assisting with financial processes, and completing school office duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Makes students, employees, and visitors welcome in the office.
  • Answers telephones, reviews voice mail messages and correspondance, and responds appropriately.
  • Creates, monitors, and maintains accurate records, databases, and other documents.
  • Completes bulk mailings when needed.
  • Maintains a proper inventory of office supplies and equipment.
  • Contacts district office to coordinate and exchange information regarding substitute employees and employee pay.

POSITION:

Principal’s Administrative Assistant – Classification A

LOCATION:

Highlands Elementary School

HOURS PER DAY:

8 hours/day

DAILY SCHEDULE:

7am – 3:30pm, M-F

DAYS PER YEAR:

217 days (10-month position)

RATE OF PAY:

Pursuant to the Edina Professional Association of Support Staff (EPASS), this position has a starting hourly rate of $23.81-$28.09 based on direct previous experience

BENEFITS:

Pursuant to the Edina Professional Association of Support Staff (EPASS) Contract/Guidebook

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of job-related training after high school diploma.
One year of experience in related field.
Intermediate computer skills.
Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office products.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of district and school policies and procedures.
Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting procedures.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
