People and Culture Manager

SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, Administration and Finance, the People and Culture Manager plans, leads, directs, develops, and coordinates the policies, activities, and staff of the human resources department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and strategic plan. The People and Culture Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of human resources activities in general personnel management including recruitment and selection, learning and development, employee motivation, wellness and safety, performance management, onboarding/off-boarding, employee relations and compliance, diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and accessibility, compensation and benefits, HR data and analytics, and HR information systems.

The position collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to develop the human capital and talent of the company and champions the implementation of workplace culture for the firm’s corporate headquarters and field locations within various states.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops talent management strategies and programs that emphasize the retention and development of current employees, the integration of new talent, and the attraction of highly qualified candidates.
  • Engages in strategic planning to ensure maximum employee participation, development, growth, efficiency and productivity.
  • Develops and delivers leadership, team building and employee recognition programs.
  • Champions communication of KRA human resources programs and benefits internally and externally.
  • Develops and administers programs and procedures to meet the strategic objectives in order to ensure the maximum growth and development of employees, including workforce development, career path, and employee retention.
  • Ensures compliance with government mandated rules and regulations including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and other applicable HR laws.
  • Administers and recommends changes to maintain a competitive people benefits program, including employee enrollment. Serves as a liaison to external vendors and periodically evaluates the effectiveness of contracted vendor service delivery.
  • Administers and maintains a compensation program, including FLSA classification and position descriptions.
  • Coordinates all employee relations functions, including policy management, staff issue resolution and compliance to mandated rules and regulations.
  • Makes recommendations to further develop employee skills as well as recommends and implements training and professional development programs to maximize employee experience at the firm.
  • Establishes and continuously maintains employee personnel files and records. Ensures that the firm adheres to confidentiality, security and privacy guidelines
  • Develops and implements departmental budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required;
  • At least five years of human resource management experience required.
  • At least five years of supervisory experience required.
  • Current SHRM-CP, SCP, SPHR, PHR or related human resource certification highly preferred

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Personal computer literacy required, including effective use of the Internet, e-mail, video conferencing (Zoom, Teams) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred. Experience with Indeed, Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter and/or LinkedIn to identify candidates and develop pipeline of qualified candidates highly preferred.
