How would you like to live and work in beautiful San Diego, California?The University of California San Diego (UCSD), Department of Pediatrics and Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego (RCHSD) are committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. RCHSD, a 377-bed level 1 Trauma Center, is the major regional primary and tertiary pediatric hospital and is the clinical home of UCSD Department of Pediatrics.

We are seeking board-certified/eligible pediatricians to join the Rady Children’s Urgent Care, within the Division of Emergency Medicine. The candidate will join our growing UC staff which currently consists of 12 BC pediatricians and 3 pediatric nurse practitioners. The candidate will be contracted to work at any of our UC sites providing same-day acute care to pediatric patients throughout the San Diego community. This includes scheduled shifts as well as coverage for sick call-ins and patient volume surges. The position offered can be any amount of FTE (full-time equivalent) equal to or above 0.5 FTE as desired by the candidate. The RCHSD Urgent Care consists of 6 locations throughout San Diego County and the surrounding areas, providing great “in your neighborhood” accessibility to the community we serve. The Urgent Care Department holds a close relationship with the RCHSD Emergency Department located at the Rady Children’s Hospital Main Campus. Our Division has a strong commitment to clinical care, quality improvement, teaching and research. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must have an MD, DO, or equivalent and must be board certified/eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Candidates must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
  • Current DEA license and current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (or have completed these certifications by their first day).
