Nature of Work
The Real Estate Division Parking Section manages approximately 3000 parking spaces for employees, visitors, and legislators at the Capitol Complex in compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by the Cabinet Secretary of the Department of Administration. If you have excellent customer service and enjoy working outside, this is a great opportunity. As a Parking Attendant, you will:
- Enforce parking regulations on the capitol campus.
- Provide customer service information and assistance to the public, invitees, and employees, this includes but is not limited to greeting the public and providing directions to various state agencies, offices, departments, meetings, and event locations, directions to multiple interstates, local attractions; direct delivery vehicles to appropriate parking spaces and access points; assists and ensures buses use the appropriate drop-off and pick up locations.
- Report suspicious activity and/or emergency situations to protective services.
- Perform routine meter maintenance as needed.
- Monitor meters, assign employees, and reserve parking spaces and parking lots in accordance with the state parking code and enforce the parking regulations by issuing parking citations via an electronic handheld device.
- Under dual control will collect meter monies and parking ticket payments.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Work is performed mainly outdoors and involves long periods of standing, walking, and exposure to all types of weather. Must possess the ability to provide excellent customer service and operate an all-terrain vehicle. Perform other duties related to the parking section as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Education equivalent to completion of the eighth (8) grade.
Substitution: Experience as described below may substitute for two years of the required training.
Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience involving public contact.
