We are looking for an exceptional Paralegal to join our Litigation team, which includes not only traditional commercial and regulatory litigation but also Government Investigations & Special Matters, Competition Law, and eDiscovery. The team is responsible for a broad litigation portfolio, touching on investigations, antitrust, marketing, IP, privacy, securities, accessibility, contract, unfair competition, and everything in between, for all business lines within the Uber family.
Our paralegal team is made up of experienced professionals who value and appreciate the importance of a good team dynamic. We are entrusted with significant substantive work, both internal and public-facing, in addition to classic matter support and organization. We are looking for an experienced, ambitious, detail-oriented paralegal who can help us provide efficient support to the business.
What You’ll Do:
– Manage a high volume of matters and assist in all phases of the litigation lifecycle, including implementing legal holds, gathering documents, engaging in settlement negotiations, preparing for arbitrations and trial
– Review and analyze complaints and legal demands, performing detailed fact investigations and coordinating with internal stakeholders
– Attend mediations and small claim hearings on behalf of the company
– Respond to third-party subpoenas, which involves engaging in meet and confer efforts and preparing extensive document productions
– Organize and maintain information and legal documents within our matter management system
Basic Qualifications
– Minimum of four (4) years of litigation experience at a large firm, in-house legal department, or federal/state government agency
– B.A./B.S. or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
– Paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited school preferred
– Confidence and flexibility to operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
– Skilled oral and written communicator
– Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate well and build consensus with internal business leaders and legal groups
– Team player attitude, appreciating the importance of tasks big and small, with a willingness to take initiative and think two steps ahead
– Passionate about your work with a desire to have a big impact
– Technical know-how with a working knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other web-based applications

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base hourly rate range for this role is $37.02 per hour – $41.23 per hour.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base hourly rate range for this role is $41.11 per hour – $45.80 per hour.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base hourly rate range for this role is $41.11 per hour – $45.80 per hour.
For Washington, DC-based roles: The base hourly rate range for this role is $41.11 per hour – $45.80 per hour.
