This position has potential for partial telework assignment once fully trained.
- Assist the FWRI Grants Manager and staff in the coordination and management of revenue grant funding for FWRI. Activities include but are not limited to reviewing grant documents; reviewing and submitting reports and other documents to granting agencies both through email and agency websites; reviewing grant and match budgets to ensure compliance with award conditions; and preparing amendment requests and other forms.
- Serve as the back-up for the Federal Aid Coordinator for the USFWS Sport Fish Restoration (SFR) program’s marine funding for Florida in OPS GS III SFR position.
- Set up budgets using Excel template and upload to Sharepoint portal site.
- Update Revenue, Budget Office, and associated FWRI staff when new projects are awarded and forward all incoming documents pertaining to the set-up of a new project.
- Assist in maintaining the accuracy of the FWRI grant records and files; this includes both physical and digital files.
- Update grant files and records in the AmpliFund grant management system for assigned grants, including Task and Budget information/imports.
- Assist the FWRI Grants Manager in consulting with staff and others in government, business, and private organizations to discuss issues, coordinate activities and resolve contractual problems.
- Monitor assigned grant expenditures for compliance with award budget through the use of software and/or reports.
- Assist FWRI staff with budget and spending issues.
- Monitor all phases of award oversight to include but not limited to review and submittal of performance and financial documents, tracking budget and spending trends, and close-out process of awards.
- Assist with invoicing of awards through the FWC Revenue and Grants Office.
- Assist with development and implementation of grants management training for staff regarding granting agencies and Federal and State policies and regulations.
- Filing, copying, scanning, emailing documents and answering phones as needed.
- Perform other related work as it relates to assisting the Grants office.
- Participate in public outreach efforts, as appropriate.

The entry-level knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) needed to perform job duties are as follows:
Knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge of basic principles of grant and/or contract management; general accounting principles, practices and procedures; problem solving; general office procedures. Ability to do following: plan, organize and direct program activities; analyze and interpret computer-related accounting data; work independently; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective professional relationships; make decisions in a timely manner; prioritize workload; sort data alphabetically, numerically and categorically using Excel; perform basic arithmetical calculations and follow instructions. Ability to interpret and follow complex rules, policies and procedures; show initiative, and follow-through and work accurately with details. Skill in the use of personal computers, Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, online grants management systems. Ability to pay attention to details. Skilled in providing excellent customer service.
This position requires the candidate to have successful completion of a level 1 and a level 2 background check at no cost to the candidate prior to hire.
