Job Description

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation’s war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today’s missions and tomorrow’s global challenges.

RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION

JT4 is seeking an Operational Test Analyst that will provide Link 16 Daily Network coordination support with internal and external customers/users of the daily network within R-2508. The candidate will travel and meet with other regional organizations (NTTR, China Lake, Pt. Mugu, UTTR, etc.) as needed. The candidate will generate documentation for daily network operations and will work closely with the 775 C4ISR group for direction/guidance. The candidate will provide the C4ISR team with Sys Admin, Logistics, COMSEC, and hardware/software associated with C4ISR systems. Should have prior COM/TDL experience with Link 16 and SADL preferred.

Basic to intermediate experience is desired with operating common tactical data links, radios/terminals/gateways/modems, MIDS LVT (Link 16), MIDS JTRS (Link 16), AN/ARC-210 (U/VHF), AN/PRC-117G (U/VHF).

Familiarity with the following data link waveforms and protocols is desired: Link 16, Variable Message Format (VMF), the ability to develop and analyze data link messages (J-series messages, K-series messages), and the ability to read and understand common military data link standards and protocols: (MIL-STD 6016 (Link 16), MIL-STD 6017 (VMF).

Familiarity with using tactical data link software Battlefield Operations Group Support System (BOSS), Amalgamated Remote Management System (ARMS), Link 16 Environment Gateway Stimulator (LEGS), Terminal Operational Environment Simulator (TOES), IDM Workbench. Protocol Analyzer, Message Analysis, and Data Reduction for the Integration of Links (MANDRIL) are desired.

A basic understanding of the following software language is desired: Python.

A Secret clearance is required with a potential upgrade to TS with SCI for access to a new facility. The candidate will be a COMSEC user/CRO and should have Security+ certification or obtain it within 6 months of the start date.

REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Completion of technical training and at least 10 years of related experience; or an associate degree and 7 years of related experience; or a related bachelor’s degree (engineering, math, computer science, or physics) and 4 years of related experience; or a related Master’s degree and 2 years of related experience. The incumbent must understand concepts, principles, and practices of engineering and analysis to enable the employee to serve as a technical authority on projects relating to the specific programs. The position requires knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in technology to solve problems in the specialty area. The incumbent must maintain excellent communication and analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver’s license. The Operations/Test Analyst must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to Top Secret with special access. Must be a U.S. citizen.

SALARY

The expected pay range for this position is $78,936 to $ 115,000 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines.
